Zerina is a trauma-informed climate adaptation consultant, facilitator and creative arts therapist who works with communities to navigate change with care, creativity and connection. She holds a Master of Creative Arts Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts (Environmental Studies) from the University of Melbourne.
Drawing on a background in business management, somatic practices and the performing arts, Zerina helps organisations and community groups engage with climate adaptation in ways that feel inclusive, grounded and accessible. She has a particular commitment to working alongside young people, older people and people with disabilities, ensuring their experiences and insights shape the region’s adaptation pathways.
Zerina held the role of Community Engagement Lead for Living Lab Northern Rivers, working closely with partners, stakeholders and local residents to support meaningful participation in regional adaptation and resilience projects.
After the 2022 Northern Rivers floods, she contributed to a range of creative recovery initiatives across the region. Her work emphasises emotional safety, gentle facilitation and the power of storytelling and expression in rebuilding connection and confidence.
At the heart of her practice is a belief that communities are strongest when people feel seen, supported and able to take part in shaping their own future.
