Richmond River catchment mapping prototype

PROJECT
Mapping the Richmond River — where data meets story.
In the wake of the 2022 floods in the Northern Rivers, a significant amount of resourcing has been made available to local organisations involved in improving river and catchment health. We were supported by the NSW Department of Energy, Environment, Climate Change and Water to explore new approaches to mapping and storytelling that enhanced collaboration across the catchment.
In short, how do the people doing the work know what each other is doing across the catchment? How do we grow public engagement with the work to better understand the nature of these investments and the benefits they bring?
This is critical to ensure our vibrant network of government, private and not-for-profit organisations can work more effectively together.
Next steps? We undertake a second round of research and engagement in May 2025.
